This ministry is very important to our church.  Our goal is to love our community with “no strings attached.”  This outward expression of serving our community can open the door for the church to share the love that God has for all his people.

Columbia County Fair

Each year the church sets up a booth at the Columbia County Fair.  At the fair, church volunteers make animal balloons, face painting and other kid friendly activities.  We have such a blast to see the smiles on the faces of the kids and their parents who come and visit our booth.

Harvest Party

Another yearly event is our Harvestfest Block Party at River of Life Church.

Held in late September, this free event brings in hundreds of people from the community.  The afternoon is filled with the excitement of bounce houses, kid’s games, and live music. Those that attend also can have some snacks such as popcorn and snow cones are provided by the church for those in attendance.

Missions

River of Life church also seeks out mission groups to come and serve the greater Portage area.  In recent years, we have had groups from, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and throughout the United States.  Last year over 100 missionaries came to the Portage Area to serve for Family Fest.  These missionaries along with our church members serve the community through backyard bible clubs, disaster cleanup, construction and repair, youth block parties and much more.
