Protect Your Marriage
From the upcoming River Daily Devotional coming in June…
“Wives, submit… unto your own husbands…
Husbands, love your wives.” ~ Ephesians 5:22,25
Understand this: (1) Every gift from God will be contested by Satan. Satan was angry that Job’s family was a source of delight to God, his provider. Look out, god’s blessing on your home invites Satan’s attack. He’ll place thorns in your nest. He wants to be the third party in your relationship. He wants to agitate and disappoint, using your weakness. He inspires unreallistic expectations, diverts your focus from servant-hood to self-absorption. He fuels your imagination through television and unhealthy relationships, until God’s presence ceases to be the atmosphere of your home or the goal of your union. beward of his inroads. Become a watchman over your family. (2) Thoughts have presence. The moment you walk into a home you sense a conflict or contentment, jealousy or joy. Your attitude is contagious. Like a thermostat, it determines the climate. One husband noted that certain television shows nurtured a sexual restlessness within him. He was comparing his wife with the sensuality of the performers. A young wife identified the timing of unexplainable jealousy toward her husband, after watching her favorite soap opera. Every emotion has a birthplace. So be sensative to any changes in the enviroment of your home or inner life. (3) Love is more about listening than talking. Listen long enough for hidden emitions to be expressed. Listen carefully enough to gain understanding. Listen accurately, so you can assess the true needs of your mate that nobody else has been able to meet. Your questions reveal your caring. So ask them softly, ask them repeatedly, pray and process before you respond, and your marriage can become a masterpiece.

How Great is My Wife!!??
My wife is so awesome! After having a baby by C-section this week, she has just been the best. I have been a little irritable with Samantha being crankier than usual, and she has been so cool and calm. I have never met a woman like her before. Still recovering from surgery, she made me homemade cookies tonight. They were sooooo good. Warm gooey homemade chocolate chip cookies. Mmmm…
I am so lucky to have a LADY like her!
“An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.”
~ Proverbs 31:10

River Daily Devotional?
One of the ideas floating through my mind is having a River of Life Daily Devotional. It would have devotions for every single day from famous authors and preachers. This would allow all of our people at the church to be “on the same page” and do devotions together. The cost would be extremely minimal, only $5 per book, which is 3 months worth of devotions. Every devotional would come with River of Life Church’s info, and regularly scheduled services and teaching times. You could buy a few extra and give them to friends and family also. At the very least, they would remind people on a daily basis of their local church that is here to encourage them on their walk with our Lord.
The devotions would not be as basic as “Our Daily Bread” and not be as complicated as “My Utmost for His Highest” gets sometimes. It would be a nice middle ground to help all of our church family, and even some who are outside of the church to grow in our spiritual walk together. I am curious what some of you think of this idea. Please click “Comments” and let me know what you think of this idea.

Sarah Grace Turner
Around 1 or 2 AM last night we decided on a name for our new baby girl. Sarah Grace!
Sarah – means “Princess”. It comes from Genesis 17:15-16.
Grace – means “Unmerited Favor”. It is in many scriptures, but here is one of my personal favorites:
Ephesians 2:8 ~ “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God”
Sarah has goop in her eyes here to protect them from bacteria. What a beautiful mommy!! After all that, she still shines. I will have lots more pictures posted on here later.
